One of our Recent Projects was to Restore this Driveway to it’s former glory. It was old and tired – sunken and dipped in places and was covered in weed and moss.
Andy contacted us and asked if it we could repair it for him. So we started by lifting the existing blocks and inspecting the sub-base below.
As we thought, it had been incorrectly installed, and there was 6 inches of grit underneath, where there should only be 3. And that’s why it had sunken and dipped in places.
We lifted the whole driveway and laid a 3 inch dry-mix of concrete, before laying a fresh 3-inches of grit. To ensure the driveway would be stable and to prevent any sinking or dipping in the future.
The blocks were then re-laid and chemically cleaned, and the driveway was starting to look great again.
To complete, we heavily compacted and re-sanded, to add further stability. And then sealed the driveway to prevent any moss or mould returning.
The end result is a Driveway that looks brand new again, and a happy customer.
